hi,
my car experiences a rouh or uneven idle, but sometimes it works as smooth as silk. i can't find out what's the problem and drives me crazy as i watch the tach moving + - 50 rpm. by the way it is carbureted. i just want to know whether the ignition leads are bad or good. sometimes when i touch the wires while the engine runs i feel a slight electricity on my hand. is it normal? thnx.

1991 year yugo 45 hp with 900 cc 4 cylinder inline engine. breaker point ignition. the ignition leads are with copper core and silicone cover but when i touch them while engine runs i feel electricity on my hand. is it normal? engine runs uneven at idle and when accelerating i feel steady pulses. by the way engine is in perfect condition with 43 mpg fuel consumption.

HI there,

These old style copper leads are leaking voltage and cross firing, get good quality silicon leads if you can this hould help a lot.
