The windshield wipers were not working, turning on when shouldn't, not working when should. They are fixing the mechanism. They told me that they couldn't get to the part without breaking the airbag. The airbag wouldn't seperate. Or I was told that the clips are folded over. Why would these clips be folded? GM stated that isn't factory standard. The service person told me that they see a quarter of the cars with this problem. We bought the car used, did the person who fixed the car up to sell do this?

I worked for saturn for over 16yrs and haven't seen issues with the air bag release clips like there saying. Sounds like they don't know what there doing. Also most of the time when I have seen the wipers come on without being turned on is a bad wiper motor.

Thank you for the response! I believe that is what was/is being replaced the wiper motor. I was told to get to it they need to remove the airbag and thus, this is where the folded clip turned up. So besides the wiper motor I am now paying for an airbag and if it damages the steer wheeling, one of these :-( So are you saying there is a certain way to get the clips to release when they are folded? Who would I be able to find that knows this information? Are you in the Chicagoland area? This dealer/service center is suppose to be Saturn Certified.

Saturn tech, is there some way that you can tell me how to get this off or the shop? I would like to make an agreement with you if possible?

To replace the wiper motor there is no reason to remove the air bag what's so ever. Only if there replacing the combination switch wiper turn signal head light switch. The release tabs are pretty tough have never seen then bend from removing the air bags. To replace the wiper motor you remove the wiper arms the cowl screen below them and the dash top.I am in the southern California area. If I was in your area I would I would fix it for you and charge you to do it. Doesnt sound like there Saturn experts from what there saying about air bags on them or how you replace the wiper motor.
