Loud Clicking noise when I put the heat on the feet area and/or the defrost or heat is turned completely off. There is no clicking noise or problem when the vent is toward you and you/floor vent. Basically there is no problem when the heat option has AT LEAST one of the options as the heat going towards your upper half. But if there option is not one (aka only defrost, or only towards the feet and also when the heat is turned completely off) then the loud clicking noise occurs.

Sound's like you have a bad mode door actuator or broken mode door your going to have to get in there and see which.I would say most like the actuator not uncommon on those cars.

(1) when the envoy is started, the air conditioner works fine, and blows cold air through the vents.
(2) after about 30 minutes the air speed gets slow through these vents, and becomes less cold.
(3) additionally, I noticed small ice pieces (tear drop size) spitting out from the vents every few minutes.

Have this checked for freezing up it may not have anything to do with blower speed but you may need a evac and recharge. due to moisture in system. for the blower check harness going to resistor and blower motor draw it may be one or the other or both.

THE AIR CONDITIONING WORKS GREAT (FAST AIR SPEED AND COLD AIR!) FOR ABOUT A HALF HOUR, THEN IT APPEARS THAT IT INSTANTLY (5 SECONDS FOR THIS CHANGE) GETS MUCH LESS COOL, AND THE AIR SPEED IS MUCH SLOWER.
BOTH OF THESE EVENTS HAPPEN AT THE SAME TIME.
TURNING THE DIAL FROM FLOOR, TO VENT, TO WINDSHIELD (ALL THREE PLACES) DOES NOT CHANGE THIS PROBLEM.
I NOTICED YESTERDAY, (SUBWAY SANDWICH STOP, 10 MINUTES) THAT WHEN THE TRUCK IS TURNED OFF AND BACK ON, THE PROBLEM CLEARS FOR A PERIOD OF TIME.

The air vents are operated by vacuum. Check to see if there is a vacuum leak under the dash and at the engine where the vacuum is supplied.

Most likely you have a low refrigerant charge. This will cause the low pressure switch to activate and cut the A/C compressor out. Check the refrigerant by purchasing a 12 oz can with a guage attached. It should read approx. 40 psi +/- 5 psi. If adding refrigerant does not help then you can change out the low pressure cutoff switch.

Engine Performance problem
2002 GMC Envoy 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 112K miles

I'll try and make this short.
Battery died (6 years old), replaced battery, had altenator and new battery tested, both tested good.
Since new battery was installed I am unable to use the climate control (heat or air). As soon as the fan kicks on power drops, lights dim, idle drops to 0 and car dies. If I happen to be driving at say 45mph and attempt the system there is a temp. But major drop in power and rpm's and then surges as the car attemps to compensate. Trouble code thrown was cam shaft sensor, so I put in a new one to no avail.
There was absolutly no troubles until the battery issue, may be a coinsenidence but rather odd timing

Hello folks, Found the problem so figured I'd post so it may help others (sorry, but I don't have any $$ to offer)
Oddly enough the trouble is not directly related to the hvac system, but instead is an issue with the gas pedal. The gas pedal is electronically controlled and there is a control box located under the air filter (easily accessed). Seems this device had become gummed up and was unable to do it's job in regards to delivering the correct power and information under draw. Here's the catch. Once the thing has reached this point it can damage the mechanics inside resulting in the electronics sending the wrong info even after being cleaned and lubricated and needs to be replaced. They run about $225 and it will take you about 30 45 minutes (if you are mechanically inclined!)
These kinds of things can really throw you because they send strange trouble codes, which btw clear themselves once cleaned, about your cam position and map sensors.
Hope this helps someone out there. It took me almost 5 days (on my own) to work this one out as seemed no one had any ideas other than to tell me my car was haunted. Not what you want to hear, but typical response from a male mechanic to a female who works on cars!

Any applicable codes? So, you have an idle issue? Where applicable, clean the throttle-body and idle air control. I haven't looked to see if you have electronic throttle control.
