After buying new tires, I took the car for alignment at a shop which offered a very reasonable price, and was recommended by the tire dealer. The shop called and told me the rear camber was too far out to adjust and that I needed to have an adjustable arm installed (approx $200 parts and labor.) I called the Acura dealer who said they never heard of such for the MDX. Was I screwed by the alignment shop?

I've heard of aftermarket adjustable arms, they're called camber kits. Never heard of one for the mdx.
If they could provide you with proof that there is one specifically made for the mdx, it might be cheaper than replacing bent suspension parts.
