How do I replace the "check engine" light (bulb) in the Acura? The light doesn't come on & need to to pass State Inpection. Thank you.

Hi HeyJude12333,

You need to remove the meter cluster to replace the bulb.

GAUGE ASSEMBLY
Removal & Installation
Remove gauge assembly trim panel.
Remove 4 screws from gauge assembly. Place protective cloth over upper steering column. Partially pull out gauge assembly. Disconnect gauge assembly connectors. See Fig. 6 . Remove gauge assembly. To install, reverse removal procedure.

I tried to give you points, and I kept getting a message saying I can't give that many points. (Where does it say how many I CAN give?) I went from 100 down to 5, in several entries. All rejected.

My comment was that someone in Yahoo!Answers gave me the Mitchell link. My sister (car owner) subscribed for the info. BUT, you gave the info FREE, which is what I was hoiping for (free advice). Thank you, so much. That's worth 100 points to me and much-appreciated.

Thank you, KHL, for the answers you've given me. If I can accumulate some points, you got 'em! :D (What do the points get you.)

Do you know what bulb (part number) is used for the "Malfunction Indicator Lamp"? I've looked everywhere (Net, owner's manual) -- can't find it.

You guys are great! I'll be sure to recommend you when I have the chance.

Thank you. :)

Hi HeyJude12333,

Sorry I do not have the part number for the bulb.

I am not sure what the points are for, I just give them away when I find that someone deserves them.

Maybe it is a sort of ranking.

Thanks again.

Hello. I tried giving you the two points I have. When that failed, I tried one. That failed too. I keep getting an error message "You can't give points more than you have!" (I can't seem to give any. Lol.)

Anyway, I do appreciate the effort you made to help with the car!
