Looked through your forum but couldn't find anything on what may specifically be causing D4 to flash. Checked fluid level - OK. No strange sounds emanating. Before I get it checked out (and possibly ripped-off) how do I reset the flash?

Hi goldenri,

Thank you for the donation.

When the D4 starts flashing, it indicates an error has been detected in the transmission control system and it usually is a bad sensor or its connections.

Bridge the SCS with a jumper wire.
Turn ignitin to ON.
Count the blinking of the D4 to get the troubl code.

Delayed blinks = 10
Fast blinks = 1
A longer pause indicates the next code.
The process would repeat when all codes are flashed.

Let me know the code and we shall see what is causing it.
Is any components not working correctly? Speedometer?

Thanks for your quick reply. Maybe the speedometer fell to zero then return to the proper speed - not sure. Where exactly is the Ignition Timing Adjusting Connector? The diagram is very fuzzy. Thanks.

The speedometer not functioning correctly is anindication the Vehicle Speed Sensor is malfunctioning and that can cause the D4 light to blink.

The SCS Connector is under right side of dash, above the PCM, behind the glovebox.
