1991 Acura Legend Automatic Transmission only working in 1s
Transmission problem
1991 Acura Legend 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 119000 miles
The car only run in 1st and reverse. I am not able to manually shift into other gears. My friend mentioned could be in limp mode or electrical issue.

Is teh D4 light on? or flashing? First remove fuse #15 (7.5amp) to clear all codes and drive the vehicle.This will clear any irrelevent codes.If it starts acting up again locate diagnostic connector, under carpet on passenger side foot well. (see pic) install jumper wire in connector, and count the flashes of theD4 light.These are the trouble codes for thetrans.A long blink is worth 10, a short blink is 1.For example a long blink followed by 4 short blinks is a code 14.Get back to me with what you find.
