Hey, so I am replacing my CVboots on my axles and I cant figure out how to remove the head of the axle to slip on the new CVboot? Any ideas on how to do this?

Hi dddavid,

Clamp the shaft on a vice and while pulling at the CV joint outer shaft, use a mallet to tap the CV joint inner portion to get it off the internal spring clip.

Sometimes the clip might be stuck very hard so you need a punch to knock at the inner seat of the CV joint.

Last resort is to remove the inboard joint and get the boot in from that side.
