1994 Integra odd shifting behavior

1994 integra ls automatic. I bought it 7k miles ago. It idles fine. The entire time ive had it it seems to shift hard, a lot harder than my older 1993 one did, also auto. It also seems to not want to downshift when I press the petal. Any ideas on this issue? From what I can tell it may be something simple like a tranny flush that could fix it, unless it isnt a small thing, but im not sure. It hasnt affected the performance of the car, ive put the 7k miles on it in only 3 months, so its doing great. But id like to keep it a long time and would prefer I know what this problem is.
