one mo ago car started cutting off at random intervals. Once stopped it re cranks w/in a min or so. seemed to appear w/ the hot weather, but last nite it stopped on my daughter four times w/in several miles of start point. It is parked at her work, waiting on me.
I was thinking coil, exciter or some type of relay, but have gotten advice that it could be a crank/cam positioning sensor. Can't find a parts listing on either of these. So I have no idea where to star on it. Suggestions?

The crank sensor is located in the distributor. If it is at fault, most probably it would show an engine check warning.

The ignition coil can cause cause engine stalling but most probably you not be able to restart till it cools down and most probably vehicle would jerk when driving.

I suggest checking the main fuel pump relay which is the most likely cause as I have seen many with poor contact which causes intermittent problem.
