Acceleration problem

So I was driving my car and I noticed that when I stop and try to get the car moving again I practically have to floor it. It doesn't seem to be the transmission because nothing is slipping. I can hear the engine rev and everything but the car just won't accelerate like it should. I can hit a max or maybe 40mph. I've tried looking up what the problem may be and a lot of the responses are that it could be a spark plug or the fuel filter. I was wondering if anyone had answers to this and how much it would cost with labor to fix?

Won't be a sparkplug or plugwire you would have a misfire, As for fuel filter you would stall out, But you max the vehicle at 40 mph, a plugged exhaust can do this so can a failed transmission. And lets not forget a plugged air filter. Check and inspect the easy one first, go to the air filter box, inspect it, if its plugged replace it go to the transmission fluid, hows the condition the fluid should be deep red not reddish black, As for the exhaust being plugged does the acceleration sound so different?

If it doesn't say expert by name it is not an answer from 2 car pros. Check trans fluid then have a trans guy scan for codes sounds like trans is time for rebuild
