Can you please tell me. I have a Spanish model of the c max titanium and was wondering if the car has a switch on it to change the lights to UK when travelling there? Many thanks

For European models like your 2014 Ford C-Max Titanium, it's common for vehicles to have a feature that allows drivers to adjust the headlight beam pattern for driving in different countries, where the direction of traffic differs. This is especially useful when traveling between countries that drive on the right (like Spain) and those that drive on the left (like the UK).

In many cases, this adjustment can be made via a switch or setting within the vehicle's headlight assembly or through the vehicle's on-board settings accessed via the dashboard or infotainment system. The purpose of this feature is to prevent the headlights from dazzling oncoming drivers when you switch from driving on the right to driving on the left side of the road and vice versa.

However, the availability of this feature can vary based on the vehicle's specific model, trim, and options. For the 2014 Ford C-Max Titanium, here's what I would suggest:

Check the Vehicle's Manual: The owner's manual should have information on whether your car has this feature and how to use it. Look for sections related to the headlights or travelling abroad.

Physical Inspection: Sometimes, there are manual levers or dials within the headlight assembly (often marked with symbols indicating left or right traffic) that allow for manual adjustment of the headlight beam. These can usually be accessed when the hood is open.

On-board Settings: Some modern cars allow you to change this setting through the vehicle’s onboard computer system, typically found in the settings menu on the dashboard screen.

Consult a Ford Dealer or Qualified Mechanic: If you're unsure, it's best to consult with a Ford dealer or a qualified mechanic. They can tell you definitively whether your specific vehicle has this feature and show you how to adjust it if available.

If your vehicle does not have an adjustable headlight feature, you may need to use adhesive beam deflectors on the headlights. These are stickers that you apply to your headlights to block out the part of the beam that would otherwise dazzle oncoming drivers. They are a common, temporary solution for drivers taking their cars abroad.

Remember, driving with incorrectly aligned headlights in a foreign country can be illegal and dangerous, so it’s important to make sure your car is properly adjusted before you travel.
