2012 Ford Expedition Repair Question

Ford Expedition Engine Problem
Engine alarm light on for no reason , the oil level and engine temperature are perfect. There is no noise of any sort. Car running smoothly. I am suspecting that the alarm is faulty. Am I right or can there be other serious reasons for alarm.

Have the computer scanned to identify what may be causing it to be on. Most parts stores will do it for free.
