JEEP WRANGLER TRANSMISSION PROBLEM

2011 Jeep Wrangler • 17,000 miles

My 2011 Sahara automatic transmission was stuck in snow storm, When I finally got out all of my gears are we're working fine except reverse. When I shift into reverse the engine revs but no movement. Why is this happening? I did flush and replace the transmission fluid.

Sounds like transmission internal problem due to excessive heat built up inside-Have it pressure tested by a tranny shop to find out more what's happening internally-

Could the jeep be in limp mode where it needs to have the transmission fault error diagnostics codes erased

Try scanning the TCM and see if it'll pop a code

SOUNDS LIKE 'HER' ESCAPE.....THE WIFE'S ALUMINIUM TRANNY JUST COULDN'T HANDLE THE OLE "BACK AND FORTH" ROUTINE EITHER

http://www.2carpros.com/questions/2003-ford-escape-03-2wd-30-v-6-evil-female-and-automatic-transmission

JUST WANTED YOU TO BE PREPARED

WHEN "MR. JEEP" WENT DOWN, I WAS ABLE TO HOLD IT IN AND ONLY CRIED WHEN NOBODY WAS LOOKING.......

I'VE GOT THE MANUAL TRANNY STUFF UNDER CONTROL. WHEN "MR. JEEP" OR "WILLY" HAVE AN ISSUE, REPAIR PARTS ARE MY ONLY COST. .............THOSE AUTOMATICS ARE A WHOLE NUTHER ANIMAL, YOU GOTTA FIND THE "CORRECT FELLER" TO BUILD ONE, NOT THE CHEAPEST ONE

I AM ABLE TO SAVE MONEY WITH 'BOUT ANY ROUTE I TAKE

NOT LONG AGO "WILLY'S" THROW-OUT (RELEASE) BEARING WENT OUT.....I INSTALLED IT 20 YEARS AGO, WHEN WE 1ST BECAME FRIENDS........LOOKS LIKE IT WOULDA LASTED LONGER????

WHILE I WAS IN THERE, HE GOT A WHOLE NEW CLUTCH SET---SURFACED FLYWHEEL--NEW TRANNY AND TRANSFER CASE JUICE + SOME PAINT......INITIALLY, I DID BURST INTO TEARS....DIDN'T CARE WHO SAW 'EM EITHER!.....I KNEW HE'D BE DOWN A COUPLE OF WEEKS AND WOULD COST ME A FORTUNE............YOU KNOW, LIKE THE TOTAL WAS LESS THAN $175........ALMOST HALF OF A MONTHLY AUTO MOBILE PAYMENT!

I'VE BEEN CONTEMPLATING A NEW WRANGLER.......I'M NOT IMPRESSED WITH ALL OF THE AUTOMATION (PUSH BUTTON 4WD--ETC).......OR THE INABILITY TO BLAST IT OUT WITH THE GARDEN HOSE..........THEN THERE'S THAT THAT PRICE ISSUE

THE OTHER THING---IF IT'S NOT A LOAD OF BULL---THEY GOT A "LIFETIME" DRIVETRAIN WARRANTY......?

I'VE SEEN THAT ADVERTISED

IS THIS TRUE?

IF SO, WHY ARE YOU EVEN ASKING THIS QUESTION?

WHAT IS THE "LOOP HOLE" FOR THEM TO NOT HONOR IT?

I DROVE IN THERE ONE DAY WITH "WILLY". I WAS REALLY LOOKING TWO OF THEM WRANGLERS OVER.

THE SALESMAN APPROACHED ME AND SAID, "LOOKS LIKE YOU LIKE THOSE TWO"

I TOLD HIM, "YEAH....THIS ABOUT THIS ONE, AND THAT, ABOUT THAT ONE"

THEN HE ASKED IF I WAS GOING TO TRADE "WILLY"

SO I TOLD HIM I NEEDED TO CALL MY WIFE

WHEN SHE ANSWERED, I TOLD HER THIS GUY UP HERE AT THE DEALERSHIP, WAS WANTING TO TRADE ME TWO WRANGLERS FOR "WILLY".......IS THAT A FAIR DEAL OR SHOULD I REQUEST SOME MONEY TO BOOT???

FROM THAT POINT ON, I WAS UNABLE TO TALK TO THE FELLER, HE BEGAN TO BACK PEDDLE......GUESS "WILLY" WAS TOO MUCH JEEP FOR HIM.

DO GIVE ME MORE INFO ABOUT THE WARRANTY

The vehicle isn't in limp mode. If it was, you would have 2nd gear only. As far as the problem, check to see if there is a code stored. If you are lucky. There will be one.
