2011 Hyundai Getz irregular rev

When reverse is selected and foot on clutch rev counter goes up to 2000
Without foot touching accelorator. Also when changing gears from 1 up revs
Go up. No.2 gear has no power uphill. Bought the car 2days ago and salesman
Says I must bring it in and they will sort problem. My fear as an ignorant person
Regarding cars is the damage already caused. Please tell me what damage
You think has been caused and also advise if I should continue with the car.

Shouldn't be any damage for revving take it back and let them fix it.

A guy I was speaking to said that a piston can be sent through the block and
Also that clutch is getting burnt. People take you for a luck when they see you not clued up when it comes to vehicles.

Thanks again, I will do as advised. Oh and what about it losing power
Uphilll in 2nd gear?
