FUEL PUMP WONT SHUT OFF

2011 Dodge Ram • 40,000 miles

Not all the time but maybe once every 25 starts the fuel pump continues to run after the truck is turned off. Restarting it does not help the only way to get it to shut off is to pull fuel pump fuse than you can put it back in and it will be back to normal operation until it happens again it has acted up 3 times now. When it is stuck on the truck can be totally off no key in ignition and the pump will run continuously

Check the fuel pump relay to see if that is working properly.

I had an afterthought. Isn't the truck under warranty?

Power train only after 36000 would this be considered powertrain

No, this would have fallen under the bumper to bumper warranty.

I have an idea. Contact the dealer and tell them what is happening. Tell them that you feel it should be covered under the emissions warranty since it is fuel related. You may get lucky. I believe the warranty for the emissions components is 5years or 50K
