2010 Volkswagen Jetta A/C shuts off intermentantly

I have had an issue with the a/c shutting off randomly and take around 10 minutes to turn on. I am not referring to cool down time, because it never gets real cold until it is dark and the outside temp is below 96 degrees. What are some thing I should be looking at to help resolve this problem.

Do you mean the blower stops blowing when it shuts down or just the cooling efficiency is affectted?

No, the blower works great; the compressor would kick off. I finally figured it out. My system uses more refrigerant than specified. It works gret now.
