2010 Toyota Corolla Repair Question

DRL indicator is lit up on the dashboard. Doesn't go away while driving. Sales guy says it means the daytime running lights are on. Is this true?
I don't actually own the car, I'm interested in buying it (so I don't have a lot of details on it, besides that it's a Corolla Sports). I've tried to do research, but I can't come up with a consistent answer.
