I had a gas cap issue the other day. I had locked the vehicle while pumping gas and could not get the cover to close until I had unlocked the vehicle. Three days later my check engine light has come on. Is this likely to be related to the gas cap issue three days prior?

The gas cap is closed properly and I even got additional gas and opened and closed the panel to make sure it was properly sealed.
