Engine light comes on and off, usually stays on after gas gets below half of a tank. Goes off after filling tank us. Code is P0406. Vehicle sputters usually when we first start to drive. Should we change the EGR valve?

Hey FHPECK,

This is a problem with the EVAP system not getting enough vacuum from the engine or the sensor on the top of the gas tank needs to be replaced. Begin by checking the vacuum lines headed to the tank and charcoal canister.
