My 2010 Chevy Malibu makes a strange noise when backing up and turning. It almost sounds like the tire rubbing against something or is similar to the sound a worn windshield wiper makes. It does not happen all the time--generally when damp.

Is the sound in front or back? Do you have foot on brake slightly?

Not sure where its coming from. I think it happens with and without having my foot on the break.

Could be your rear brake shoes. Wetness causes them to swell slightly and if they are snug already this could mean rubbing harder than usual. This could make them shift bind slightly. Also makes them "grabbier" which could trigger the sound.
