2009 Mitsubishi Outlander - accidentally turned off vehicle while driving and when I started it back up the engine light came on. Have I damaged the engine? or is it a sensor that reads the car was not turned off properly?

well,if it's running fine it's not a serious issue. get code read to see what it is. may go off by itself later.
