Why would tech at Sam's club tell me that using a T rated tire vs V rated (oem) cause premature wear and void tire warranty unless I used the OEM tire(V)?
V tire @$20 more and 10000 mile less wear.

A V rated tire is good for up to 149 m.P.H, while a T rated tire is safe for ONLY up to 118 m.P.H. Assuming you didn't inform the sales person that you intend on operating your Sonata at over 120 m.P.H, I don't see why there should be a problem on you selecting what type of tire to use if you want to have the extra warranty. Go back and see if you can get a different sales person, if not ask for the manager to help you.
