HI THERE, I RECENTLY CHANGED THE BRAKE PADS ON A

2009 Ford Ka • 30,000 miles

While I was undoing the top bolt that holds the caliper in place the allen key rubbed against the brake hose and seems to have rubbed a bit of the soft rubber coating off and you can see and touch the harder core of the hose. Ive wrapped some insulating tape over the bit that has rubbed off. As this rubber coating was very soft and came off very easily I assumed it is just to protect the inner core of the hose. Can you tell me if this is safe or does the hose need replacing.

Thanks for any advice

That's hard to say when I can't see it. If its questionable replace it. Send a photo of it
