When I open my car using using the electronic key the sound that is as a result of the mechanism continues to take place long after the doors were open and am already driving. What could be causing these?

That is a good one. There are a few possibilities. The remote could be transmitting randomly or low battery. There are a couple of switches on the doors and hood, but those would more likely set off the alarm. Does the security light flash or stay on? How many remotes do you have and have you tried the other one? There is a safety lock feature when you start to drive that it will lock the doors, are yours locking or unlocking while you drive? When it does do it do the lights and horn sound also? Without at least a tech II scan tool and/or the J tool for the remotes there is not much to check for the average joe. You may have to take to the dealer or at least a local shop with the proper software to access the body control module and the remote door lock module communications. Hope this helps.
