I have just purchased a 2, 7 vvti Hilux single cab. The hooter is not working so I disconnected the battery
And removed the cover on the steering wheel. I disconnected the battery to make sure the air bag did not activate, after re-assembling the steering wheel I re connected the battery. When I started the van I noticed the idling was very low. Before I removed the terminal the idling was sitting just below 1000 rpm, after re connecting the battery the idling is now sitting below 500rpm and the van is running rough. If I rev the van when the revs drop it almost wants to cut out. Please help!

Scan for codes and check fuel pressure with a gauge first autoparts rent it. Also try cleaning throttle plate and iac hole with choke cleaner

We have had a diagnostic tester on the van and it shows no faults. Tomorrow I will remove the throttle body and clean it and clean the plate. It's very strange cause the van was running perfectly until I disconnected the battery. Since then the idling is very low, nothing else wrong. Not even a fault light on the dash. Very strange.
