Grinding noise on Cold Start
When starting my 2008 Suzuki XL7 when it is cold, I hear a grinding noise a couple of seconds after releasing the key. It is coming from the engine compartment of the vehicle, and was wondering what it could be. Of course, the car just went out of warranty!

We have the same vehicle, and we're having the same issue. I only does it when it's been sitting overnight, and not every time. My girlfriend's dad seems to think it's the throwout bearing, which if that is the case, it *should* be covered under the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. We have our fingers crossed and we're waiting until 10:30 when the Suzuki office opens on the West Coast. Did you find out any more about your problem?
