When I try to start the car it kicks over but then dies. All internal electronics are working, no dimming of lights whatsoever. It's low on fuel but not empty. I'm currently going through a low temp spell where I live but the car has never had a problem before that. What could be the problem?

This sounds like a classic crankshaft angle sensor which I have replaced many on this car. Here is a guide to help you see what you are in for when doing the job.

Here is the location for your car (below)

Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Cheers

After I change the battery and tried to start the car I would not start with the key. Would not turn back all the way to get the key out now it comes up with code u0140 so I disconnected the battery for now.

Hello,

Before the battery was changed was it jumped backwards? U codes are information bus codes saying the computers are not talking to each other. Try checking the all fuses with the key on.

Here is a guide to help you get started.

Please run some tests and get back to us so we can continue helping you.

Cheers, Ken
