2008 Nissan Sentra enigine shut off

Enigine shuts completely off when driving with a/c on. After sitting with the engine off for several minutes, it starts back up. The engine stays cool and does not over heat. This only seems to occur when the a/c is on.

When the a/c is on, do you hear any unsusal noises from underhood?
Next time it cuts off, turn the a/c off and then see if the engine will start immediately (without having to wait several minutes). If so, suspect that the a/c compressor clutch is starting to go bad (locking down). When this happens the compressor is much harder to turn and places a heavy burden on the engine which could cause ot to cut off.
