i have 2008 nissan frontier with v6 and manual transmission. turn key doesn't turn engine over. no click. no nothing. so i push start. never any indication of trouble before this. i think it neutral safety switch or ignition switch, something like that. not solenoid or starter. truck has only 20,000 miles.

Is system equipped with clutch interlock circuits?

Check the starter solenoid in Inteligient Power Distribution Module in engine compartment. Remove the relay and use a jumper wire across terminal 19 and 21 to test if starter works.
