Enter your question...2008 Hyundai Tucson, ~64000 miles, last few months problem with steering. When turning left (now to right as well) steering feels hard, resistant, at other times grabs/releases in midturn. Not consistent. Can drive days then happens several times. Have taken it to two local mechanics-one who laughed me off, other who finally felt it- flushed power steering fluid twice with some improvement but came back. Then took to Hyundai dealer who told me steering rack leak AND a right front drive axle with torn boot- replacement$ 2300. Took it to an old trusted mechanic who drove it once said everything was fine –no repairs needed. Now what do I do? My gut is telling me a leak How are these diagnosed? Can you actually see a torn boot? And can a leak be determined?
