2008 Civic Runs Rough in Reverse on Cold Start

When I cold start my 2008 Honda Civic with 31K it runs very rough as soon as I put it in reverse and the engine sounds unusually loud and boomy. When I put it in drive the problem diminishes but I still notice it a little for a minute or so. Once the engine warms up the problem disappears. What could be causing this? A friend said the engine mounts might be cracked. Does this seem likely?

Yes, since problem is more pronounced when reversing, it could be the engine mounts causing it.
