Hey there,
I have a 2008 fiesta 1.6 16v duratec (zetec). The car idles a bit rough nothing major but lumps in a minor scale . The needle sways up and down slightly. There is also power loss. The power between 2-3k rpm is flat. The car feels sluggish. The rev free nature of the car is gone. Earlier there was a duratec snarl between 2-3k rpm and now the snarl is missing and it seems flat on power and the pin to seat torque is missing The car revs to the redline, it is smooth and scan shows up no error codes.

This happens when the fuel pump starts to go out and you have weak fuel pressure, the engine will rev but then when you need power it lays down. Here is a guide to help you test the fuel pressure to confirm the issue.

it should be about 55 psi.

Here is a video that show the fuel pump replacement in a similar car.
