COOLANT LEAKING

2008 Ford Explorer • 125,000 miles

The leak appears to be at top of regulator, near the radiator. There is a powdery build up there. I had to replace 1/2 gallon of coolant. The engine sometimes racesfor a few seconds when it is started.

First thing to do is pressure test the cooling system and locate the leak, replace the hose and the thermostat housing if it is badly corroded.
