Fluttering sound

i have a 2008 PT Cruiser. I recently bought the car used with 81000 miles. A fluttering sound started and it sounds like in the motor even when the car has started you can hear the fluttering including when you drive. There is no leaks. Could it be the engine or Transmittion:
