2008 Chevrolet Truck engine

Miss fire on # 7, changed plug, wire, coil and injector no change. When the problem first started it would miss and then stop for a while. The last time I drove 250 mile with no problem then it started again had hasn't stopped. I took off the valve cover and #7 intake valve doesn't move or operate at all

Check for a broken or bent pushrod or a bad lifter. It cold be a cam as well but kind of doubt it.

Good lifter no broken or bent push rod. As I said the problem comes and goes push rod do not fix themselves. Upon reading info about the 5.3 chevy engines #7 is one of the cylinders that can be shut down by the computer for better highway mileage. This is done by bypassing the oil to the intake lifter. This is a more probable cause I think, a bad solenoid.

It doesn it electronically not taking oil away try cleaning your maf and see what happens. Misfires arenot easy to find even for apro. Check fuel pressure with a gauge as well. Shold be 50-60psi engine off key on
