2007 Volvo S40 Repair Question

2007 volvo s40car struggles to start 1st time on random ocassions.
High pitch starter moter sound sound when egnition turned and engine dosent kick. Engne statrs as normal after 3rd -4th time attempt.Also Bulb Failure text on dash (passanger side headlight) could this be a result using a jet wash on the car at the weekend?
