The face plate on my radio is broken. How can I tell what kind of stereo it is in order to replace just the face plate?

I don't know the original brand. There are several sites for automotive stereo systems. Just pick one, the site will ask for year--, make--model. Then, they give you a list of radios that are supposed to fit your vehicle. If you buy an automotive radio in a store, the information should show which year--make model will fit. I looked at crutchfield. Com. I'm not pushing crutchfield, that's just the one I thought about. They have tech support and everything.
