Both battery and brake lights came on while driving to work, soon after lost the ability to drive forward but made it to work. Noticed when pushed on brakes, warning lights went on. When I did not apply brakes warning lights went off. Could be belts, sensors, alternator or something more substantial. Main fear is I may not make it home from work as the engine still ran when I arrived at work but there was no power to drive forward. Reverse worked though. Help?

Hello,

This means the alternator went out here is a guide to confirm the failure.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-a-car-alternator

and if confirmed this guide will help you see what you are in for when changing the unit out.

Caution: Be sure to tighten B terminal nut carefully. B terminal nut tightening torque : 25 Nm (2.6 kg-m, 18 ft-lb)

Here is how it is done on your car.

Check out the diagrams (below).

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Cheers

I was driving my Quest and the battery and brake light started flashing on and off. They flash together so it is not just one at a time. What is the cause for this?

We had to change the battery and alternator about a month and a half ago and now we have the brake light and battery light is on. It looses power until the lights go off and then seems to be fine. We are still coming to the fact that it will click like the battery is drained, we can wait for a while then it will start and run for about five minuets the it shuts off and all it does clicks. I charged the battery and then it will run just fine for a while. I had the battery and alternator tested again they say it is fine. They both are working as they are suppose to. I am at a loss because I have no idea where to look from here.

For the brake light have it scanned by a professional because there may be an ABS problem. Actually that may be draining your battery as well. So have the battery checked for a parasitic draw. That may be causing your no start condition.
