Hyundai Accent Engine Problem

I r&r the head on a 1.6 and replaced some bent valves, car was idling fine before it broke the timing belt. Now it will not idle at all. Does this engine have to have the ecm reprogramed, after having the battery loose for an extended amout of time. Will not even if curb idle screw is turned in, Has no vac. leaks, I put the curb idle screw, back at it correct setting. Iam a retired ASE master tech, but I do not have privy to alldata to trouble shoot. This is my daughters car so Iam trying to fix as cheap as possible, Thanks guys Terry
