P1887 fault code my mechanic said it was a sensor but he did not know the location

Hello,

That is for the torque converter control solenoid here is the location so you can get it changed out to fix the problem. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed. Cheers

Good morning my car Honda City 2007 D light is blinking when I drive like 1 mile, and they scanned it is showing p1887 refer to vehicle service Manuel that is what the scan machine is showing, and the mechanic did not know the place. Don't forget is Honda City 2007 not civic. I need your help.

Hi,

The Honda City isn't offered in the US, so I don't have specific information to reference. However, I can tell you that it deals with the torque converter clutch release switch. In most cases, this is a wiring problem. Either there is a short or an open circuit (broken connection). It could also be the switch itself which is in the transmission and mounted on the valve body. I wish I had specifics for you, but that is the general problem. A shop should be able to actuate the switch to confirm it is not responding. If it isn't, then wiring testing is required and possibly the replacement of the switch.
