I found where is located, but I cannot reach it. The engine is SLE six cylinder 3.6L. Yesterday the tech told me that the code is P0019. Is it a timing chain or sensor? Let me know and thanks for your time.

There are four cam sensors on that motor. One for each cam. That year has engine issues with the cams (head design) and sensor wiring/plugs and timing chains. So new sensor may not cure issue. First you have to know which sensor is reading bad before you replace it. You need code to determine that. P0019 crank/cam correlation error. This sounds like timing chain issue. This is a known issue with this year/model. They should replace on their dime. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed. I have a similar issue with my 2007. I had the code read and it came up with the P0017 crankshaft position - exhaust camshaft position correlation bank 1. Timing chain and guides fixed the problem the engine has make noise as well.

See picture, but it may be the camshaft actuator causing the problem or a clogged screen in actuator. Unplug sensor unbolt and reverse to reassemble. It is for intake cam bank 1 right hand head.

My check engine light comes on periodically. It was diagnosed that the camshaft position sensor was bad. Where is this part located on the engine and is it difficult to replace?

You have four cam sensor's. Which sensor is it? If you give me the exact code number you have I can get you the correct information. It is not too hard to replace.

Check the post seven about this one. It might have to do with the camshaft actuator not working as well, or the oil level is low.

Please let us know what happens, we are interested to see what it is.

Cheers, Ken

I read your post and viewed the diagrams. But we are having a hard time accessing the sensors on a 2007 GMC Acadia. Can you tell me what I need to remove to access the sensors?

I am not sure what you are saying. Do you mean you cannot get to the sensors or you need to know which tools to use? Can you take a picture and upload it so I can see what you are talking about?

It is likely you need to remove the electrical cable and power distribution center before you can get to the sensors. Make sure you disconnect the battery first.
