Thermostat or catalytic converter or something else?

My emissions light is on the car seems to have less horse power and, there is a sulfer smell coming from under the car when running. I just had my car brought to the dealer and plugged it in. They are saying it is the thermostat that is why my check engine light is on. But it is my emissions light is on. My heat works and there is no overheating issues. Any ideas?

The thermostat can cause that. Get a second opinion if you have any doubts.
