Fuel in the petrol countdown goes down very quickly?

When I put my fuel in the petrol countdown goes down very quickly I get 57 miles for ten pound after 19 20 miles it says 0 miles left I have had a new tank fitted but still same problem

This can happen when the evap purge valve is stuck open, here is the location of the valve, I would remove it and see if you can blow through it, you should not be able to, if so the valve is bad. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
