Map light bulb replace

I need to replace a bulb in one of the map lights in the overhead console and I cannot figure out how to get to the bulb.

Thanks. The bulb cover is also the switch. I was afraid that I might break something

Hey AALEXANDER,

It is plastic so it will give a little, here is a video that shows how to replace the map light bulb, watch it and get back to us on how it goes.

These are usually pretty straightforward when removing the plastic/covers. Use a flat head screwdriver or something similar to pry the cover off. If you see any attached screws on the light for the cover be sure to remove them before trying to pop it off. You may have to remove surrounding plastic but it shouldn't be too difficult.

Usually the lens will pop off using a blunt edge tool, have the light OFF when you put the new bulb in, they get hot fast!

Trying to remove map light bulb but I can't turn the socket to remove the socket/bulb assembly. It's feels like it's locked in to the assembly. How do I get the socket/bulb out without breaking the socket?
