Having Trouble getting car out of P and into gear once started. Ford Edge FWD 6cyl
Not sure what is going on simply wont shift into drive. I can hear a click when I press the release lever but its not freeing up and shifting into R, N , D

The lock out solenoid is proberbly faulty, check your owners manual as it should have instructions for the manual over ride, if not re post and i will see if i can find it.

I wanted to say thank you that was exactly the problem and it was in the manual.(page 243)Its says to make sure Brake lambs are working properly as that may be issue. But all in all it was an easy fix. Thankyou.
