I have a 2007 Ford Focus. About 4 days ago I started having problems turning my car. It was really hard to turn. I have a mechanic in the family and he thought it was my power steering pump. I noticed a leak of reddish fluid. He replaced the pump for me last night but I went to drive my car today and it was fine until I started coming home and it was turning hard again. I noticed the fluid leaking again. I checked my fluid in the car and it was empty again. Could it be a hose? Or is the next possible problem the rack and pinion? My family member who is a mechanic is thinking it is the rack and pinion, but he is at work and is unable to look at my car right now.

You have the pump, the rack and pinion assembly, a reservoir, and two hoses. To tell you over a computer which one is leaking I'd have to dig out my dart board. The most likely suspect would be the rack and pinion assembly, but someone is going to have to actually look at it. The pressure hoses often leak right next to the metal fittings on the ends. Low-pressure return hoses can leak too but not nearly so often.
