Engine question on a 5.7L dodger charger

I recently ran my 2007 5.7l engine overheated a bit longer than i should have, i will be needing to replace the engine with a used or new one. I recently found one for sale that works with my budget, the only problem is that its from a 2006 model. Will the engine run fine if i transferred it to my 07 charge rt?(everything else is the same,both are rwd) Or does it specifically have to be from the same year?
