2007 Chevrolet Optra lack of power uphill

When running uphill the car loses power, stops running and eventually turns off. Then after starting it again it continues running almost normally until I run into another hill. Could you please explain what the problem might be.

Always start with the basics. If you've not done so, then it's time to think about a tune up. Don't forget the air and fuel filters. If you've done these recently, then then next time it goes up a hill and begins to lag, try manually downshifting the transmission. It may be a transmission issue. Check the fluid. It should be pink and smell sweet. If its a brown color or smells burnt, then start with a transmission service
