I discovered recently after my mechanic chaged the top gasket in my car that the engine light comes on permanently. This affect the car when I starts the engine, it does not accelerate until I forced it. What can be the cause and the solution please.

It sounds like you have a sensor wiring that is off here is a guide to help you scan it to find out which one.

Please run down this guide and report back.

Getting a warning in the odometer of a 2007 Chevy Optra, check engine light comes on and where it shows the gear like drive neutral or park it had what looks like a square with a line though it, wondering what that could be?

Came on twice when starting the car.

Have the car scanned for codes to see what is wrong. It may be your security system as well. Scan it first.

Some time during driving engine stalling with minor jerk and engine light comes u It continues and then engine comes to nor in fraction of seconds. Light goes only when stop car and then re-starting 2 to 3 times then light goes.

Easiest way is to replace the sensor otherwise it needs to be taken to a pro because if you check it wrong it will short out the ecm.

Steering problem
2004 Chevy Optra 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My ssps sensor light comes on and off a various times.
If it stays on and I shut off the engine and re start the engine the light will go out as it it supposed to.

Is this a serious problem? The power steering doesn't seem to be affected by this intermitent on and off problem with the light sensor.

My GM dealer doesn't seem to have an answer to this problem. You are my last resort.

Is It very seriuos?

I do know that GM had some problems with the steering wheel position sensors on the trucks with ssps. Does the speedo and everything else work properly when the light is on? The computer may be trying to turn it on/off depending what it thinks the vehicle speed is, most SSPS turn off at freeway speed to reduce drag on the engine.

The sensor in in the steering column near the bottom input shaft. You don't need to remove the steering wheel to replace it.
